Allen Page (A R Page), an air craft engineer in WW2 founded the company in 1954 after purchasing the land that the current premises occupy. Starting from humble beginnings he quickly made a name for himself as a motor mechanic. In the late 1970’s Chris Page bought the company after Allen’s retirement and introduced vehicle sales and again the company flourished and the family name was cemented in the Nelson motor industry.
In 1999 Chris and Ken Page removed the fuel pumps and completely re-furbished the building to introduce a new vehicle showroom and the KIA Motors brand to the PAGE family. Under the guidance of Ken the company was awarded “Best Dealer of the Year” for both sales and service in 2006 and annual sales continue above the national average.
In July 2008 Chris retired after spending his entire career within the industry, spending much of his time with the Motor Industry Training Board and was awarded “life time membership” for his services to the Nelson Motor Trade Association (MTA) in 1994. He continues to work part time.
